Australia is becoming an attractive destination for BPO back office relocation due to demand for secure, compliant, technology-enabled, and higher-value outsourcing operations. However, successful relocation depends on more than choosing office space. New BPO sites require early facility readiness planning across power resilience, network availability, access control, security zoning, statutory compliance, employee experience, and scalable FM delivery.
FM providers should be involved before lease signing to assess technical risks, operating costs, vendor availability, and mobilisation timelines. A strong FM service design should cover pre-go-live mobilisation, day-one readiness, and steady-state operations, including cleaning, security, maintenance, helpdesk, confidential waste, energy monitoring, and compliance reporting. Privacy, cyber security, wage escalation, and inflation must also be built into the service model.
